Biographie

Maria Tsaytler (geb. Goudimov), die derzeitig Solo-Harfenistin des Philharmonischen Staatsorchesters Hamburg ist, wurde in Moskau in eine Familie mit weitreichenden musikalischen Wurzeln geboren. Marias Mutter, Irina Kotkina, hatte das Moskauer Konservatorium in der Klasse von Vera Dulova beendet und war Solo-Harfenistin bei den Moskauer Philarmonikern. Marias Vater, Mikhail Goudimov hatte das Moskauer Konservatorium mit Auszeichnung beendet und war Bratschicht beim "Großen Symphonieorchester für Radio und Fernsehen UdSSR". Zusammen mit Sergey Bubnov bildeten sie ein Trio, für welches Sofia Gubaidulina ihr berühmtes Stück "Garten von Freuden und Traurigkeiten" schrieb.

Im Alter von 5 Jahren begann sie selbst Musik zu machen und wurde an der "Gnesin-Musikschule für begabte Kinder" im Fach Klavier angenommen.
1990 zog sie mit ihren Eltern nach Hamburg, nachdem ihre Mutter eine Anstellung als Solo-Harfenistin im Philharmoischen Staatsorchester Hamburg bekam. Im Alter von 8 Jahren begann Maria Harfe zu spielen und erhielt Unterricht von ihrer Mutter.

Maria hat folgende Wettbewerbserfolge:

1993: 1.Preis bei Jugend musiziert auf regionaler Ebene
1996: 1.Preis beim "Hamburger Instrumental-Wettbewerb"
1999 und 2002: jeweils 1.Preis bei "Jugend musiziert" auf Bundesebene
2001: 3.Preis beim Koester Classic Wettbewerb für alle Instrumente
2005: 1.Preis beim "III International Vera Dulova Harp Competition" in Moskau.

Während ihrer Schulzeit war Maria 4 Jahre lang erste Harfenistin im Hamburger Jugendorchester.
Seit 2001 ist sie konzertierendes Mitglied der von Yehudi Menuhin gegründeten Organisation "live music now".

2002 wurde sie ausgesucht um bei einem "Focus on Youth" - Konzert beim Harfenkongress in Genf aufzutreten.

In ihrem Abiturjahr (2002-03) war Maria Jungstudentin an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg in der Klasse von Prof. Xavier de Maistre. Nach ihrem Abitur (2003 am Gymnasium "Christianeum") ging sie mit einem Vollstipendium nach Interlochen zur Orchesterakademie, wo sie von Lynne Aspnes Harfenunterricht bekam und an einem Meisterkurs bei Isabelle Perrin teilnahm.

Das akademische Jahr 2003-04 verbrachte sie mit Hilfe eines Stipendiums der Deutschen Stiftung Musikleben als Studentin an der Indiana University School of Music in der Klasse von Prof. Susann McDonald. Maria nahm auch an Meisterkursen von Emilia Moskvitina, Fabrice Pierre, Edward Witsenburg und Marie-Pierre Langlamet teil.
Einen "Bachelor of Music" erhielt Maria 2008 an der Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht (Prof. Erika Waardenburg). 2009 absolvierte sie ein zweisemestriges künstlerisch-weiterführendes Studium an der Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin in der Klasse von Prof. Maria Graf. Maria wird ihr Studium voraussichtlich 2012 mit einem "Master of Music" an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg bei Prof. Xavier de Maistre abschließen.

Maria war erste Harfenistin des Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester auf deren Ostertournee 2007 und erste Harfenistin des World Orchestra of Jeunesses Musicales auf deren Europatournee im Januar 2008. 2008 war Maria Praktikantin im Philharmonischen Staatsorchester Hamburg.

In der Spielzeit 2011/2012 ist Maria Solo-Harfenistin des Philharmonischen Staatsorchesters Hamburg.

Biography

Maria Tsaytler (born Goudimov) was lucky to be born in Moscow into a family with a musical tradition - she is the fourth generation of musicians. Her mother, Irina Kotkina, finished Moscow Conservatory as a student and assistent of Vera Dulova and held the position of the principal harpist of the Moscow Philharmony. Maria´s father, Mikhail Goudimov, finished the Moscow Conservatory and was viola player at the "Big Symphonic Orchestra for Radio and Television USSR". Together with Sergey Bubnov, they built a trio, which Sofia Gubaiulina wrote her famous work "Garten von Freuden und Traurigkeiten" for.

At the age of five, Maria started to make music herself, first on the piano at
the "Music school for gifted children" named after Gnesin in Moscow.

In 1990, she moved to Hamburg, Germany, where her mother holds the position of the principal harpist of the Hamburg Philharmony. This is also when Maria started playing the harp under the guidance of her mother.

Beginning with 1993 she has been participating in competitions:

1993: 1st prize at a local competition
1996: 1st prize at the "Competition for young musicians of Hamburg"
1999 and 2002: 1st prize at the German-wide "Jugend musiziert" -competition
2001: 3rd prize at the "Koester Classic Competition for all instruments"
2005: 1st prize at the "III International Vera Dulova Harp Competition".

Maria had been the first harpist of the Hamburger Jugendorchester 1999-2003.
Since 2001 she has been a performing member of the Yehudi Menuhin "live music now" foundation.

In 2002 she was selected to performe at the "Focus on Youth"-concert at the World Harp Congress in Geneva.

Since 1999 Maria has been taking harp lessons with Prof. Erika Waardenburg. During her final year of high school (Christianeum in Hamburg), she was also a student in the Young Talent class at the "Hochschule für Musik Hamburg" with Prof. Xavier de Maistre. After her Abitur (graduation) in 2003, she went to the Interlochen Arts Camp with a full scholarship where she was coached by Lynne Aspnes and participated at a Masterclass of Isabelle Perrin.

The "Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben" helped her to spend the academic year 2003\04 at Indiana University in the harpclass of Distinguished Prof. Susann McDonald. She participated at Masterclasses of Emilia Moskvitina, Fabrice Pierre, Edward Witsenburg and Marie-Pierre Langlamet.
In june 2008, Maria obtained her Bachelor of Music degree at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht, the Netherlands, in the class of Prof. Erika Waardenburg. After studying at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin with Prof. Maria Graf for one year, Maria is currently a student of Prof. Xavier de Maistre at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg.

Maria was principal harpist of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra on their Eastertour 2007 and principal harpist of the World Orchestra of Jeunesses Musicales on their Europetour in January 2008. In 2008 Maria held a position at the Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg.

Currently Maria holds the position of the principal harpist of the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
